The First NSL Women’s Expansion Team: The SoNo Sharks
The National Squash League is thrilled to announce the SoNo Sharks as the first women’s expansion team for the 2025 season. The team owners are Shaun Moxham and Katline Cauwels, successful entrepreneurs who are the founders of MSquash. The Sharks’ ownership group enters the NSL as perhaps the most decorated with regard to squash achievement: Moxham was the coach of World Champion David Palmer and currently coaches world #13 Eain Yow Ng, while Cauwels was selected as the 2024 US Squash nominee for USOPC Coach of the Year. This will certainly benefit the Sharks in the upcoming 2025 NSL draft, in which all four of the women’s expansion teams will select five players to their rosters. The Sharks are expected to play their home matches on the show glass court at MSquash’s Norwalk location on Water Street (an ideal habitat for the Sharks), and tickets will be hot!

Official statement from Sharks’ Ownership:
“We are thrilled to introduce you to the SONO Sharks, as we aim to promote squash both locally and globally to the fullest extent. Our goal is to inspire our players by offering top-notch squash and an innovative format of play close to home. We want to instill in them the confidence to pursue their dreams, no matter how ambitious. We take pride in the significant number of female players in our academy and believe that forming a women’s team will serve as both a major source of inspiration and a tangible goal for them to strive toward. We are committed to working with all our players, boys or girls, to one day compete on an NSL team.”
