One of two expansion teams in the NSL women’s division, the New York Queens are looking to make a statement with their arrival. The leadership of Owner David Ellen and coach Nouran Gohar means that the Queens expect to be one of the most strategic and sophisticated teams in the league from the word “go.” First overall pick Fayrouz Abouelkheir will be the face of the franchise moving forward, and the Queens hope she has MVP upside in her future. Nour Heikal, Nardine Garas and Madeleine Hylland also contribute to the young core of New York that they’ll hope develop with them for years to come. The Queens balanced their roster with veteran presences Tesni Murphy and Haley Mendez, both of whom bring valuable experience to the fold.
