New York Queens

One of two expansion teams in the NSL women’s division, the New York Queens are looking to make a statement with their arrival. The leadership of Owner David Ellen and coach Nouran Gohar means that the Queens expect to be one of the most strategic and sophisticated teams in the league from the word “go.” First overall pick Fayrouz Abouelkheir will be the face of the franchise moving forward, and the Queens hope she has MVP upside in her future. Nour Heikal, Nardine Garas and Madeleine Hylland also contribute to the young core of New York that they’ll hope develop with them for years to come. The Queens balanced their roster with veteran presences Tesni Murphy and Haley Mendez, both of whom bring valuable experience to the fold. This projects as a balanced and supremely talented roster that will look to make playoff noise in year one.

Open Squash

NSL is coming to the Big Apple! New York City has long been known as one of the hotbeds of squash on the East Coast. Not only does the city play host to the iconic Tournament of Champions held in Grand Central Station, but it is also renowned for its wide array of club programs and elite junior talent. The New York Queens will be based out of Open Squash, an amazing new center located in the Financial District. Open Squash was founded with a simple mission: “bring squash to more people–at every level and from all walks of life.” This vision couldn’t be more aligned with the NSL.
