2025 Legends Match Announcement
NSL Legends Match Announcement
The annual NSL Legends Match is back! On Saturday October 18th, K2 Squash Club in Berwyn, PA will host an unforgettable evening of world-class squash featuring some of the sport’s most decorated players alongside current NSL professionals. There are some juicy matchups in store for this one, so let’s take a look at the rosters.
Team Legends

Nick Matthew: A true icon of the game, the former world #1 and three-time World Champion is back for another NSL match after winning Man of the Match honors in last year’s Legends Match. Matthew will look to lead the charge once again for a stacked Legends squad.

Thierry Lincou: Another former world #1 and World Champion, Lincou is one of the most mentally and physically resilient players to ever play the sport. He is currently the head squash coach at MIT, but don’t expect Lincou to show any rust. His toughness will be a factor for the Legends.

Cameron Pilley: Famous for holding the world record for fastest squash ball ever hit (177mph!), the former world #11 brings power and flair to the Legends lineup. Expect fireworks every time Pilley steps on court.
Team NSL All-Stars

Matias Knudsen: Currently ranked 60th in the world, Knundsen is known for his creativity and lightning-quick pace. Knudsen was the Louisville Colts 2025 2nd round draft pick, valued highly in the NSL for his attacking ability combined with good fundamentals and deep understanding of the NSL format. He’s a fan favorite who loves putting on a show.

Nick Spizzirri: Ranked #143 in the world and 4th in the US, Spizzirri is a two-time collegiate national champion with UPenn and a key player for the Lake Erie Beacons. He was Runner-up at the US Nationals this past season. His energy, athleticism, and winning pedigree will be crucial to team NSL.

Asim Khan: The #2 player in Pakistan and world #61, Khan is fresh off a season with the Chicago Grizzlies where he went from a waiver claim to a mainstay in the Chicago lineup. Khan will look to continue his upward trajectory by putting in a strong shift in this Legends Match.

The match will follow the same NSL format you know and love, with a couple modifications. Only Team Legends are allowed a two-minute power play per period in the first two periods, meaning Team NSL gets zero power play opportunities in periods 1 and 2. Both teams can utilize two two-minute power plays each in the third period. Additionally, the Legends get unlimited substitutions throughout the match. The NSL Pros get two subs in the first two periods and four in the third. How the Legends utilize their extra substitutions and power plays will be an interesting storyline to watch heading into the match.
The NSL Legends Match is about celebrating the past, present, and future of squash in the space of a single match. Fans will get to see world champions go toe-to-toe with ascending talent in our league, all within the electrifying NSL format.
