District Inferno

After a devastating Finals loss, the District Inferno will look to turn the heat up even higher in 2026. Like last year, the Inferno are anchored by American sensation Amanda Sobhy, the Malaysian Mauler Rachel Arnold, and the ever-consistent Jasmine Hutton. But, they’ve added even more firepower with NSL champion Rowan El Araby. Rounding out the roster is Marie Stephan and Noa Romero. That talent level under the guidance of coach Josh Taylor makes DC perhaps even more intimidating than last year. Every team has their eye on a championship, but DC will be especially eager to avenge last year’s loss.

Squash on Fire

Squash On Fire was born by a love of parents for their daughter, who in turn fell in love with the game of squash at the age of 10. When the family traveled, they always took Squash racquets with them, and played and competed all over the over the US, Europe, and even Egypt, playing in small urban squash clubs to beautiful luxurious ones. As an urban developer also following trends, Anthony Lanier, saw the rise of specialist sports, and also wanted to support this physical sport and bring it out of sweaty, poorly vented clubs, and elite suburban private clubs. One day he saw the opportunity to incorporate a squash club into one of his projects in Georgetown. He challenged his architect, Enrique Norton from Mexico City, to include a squash facility, into a project which also held a separate housing component, as well as a fire station! Together Enrique, Anthony, Isabel, and their team, which included the tremendous assistance of many people and designers, such as Vitra Furnishings from Switzerland, and Ingo Maurer as lighting designer, this project born out of passion and frustration, became Squash On Fire.
