Juan Vargas has long been an underrated player on the PSA World Tour. Much of his focus in the past has been for national team competitions in which he has been a standout for Colombia, winning multiple gold medals for the nation in both doubles and teams. Most recently, he topped the podium in Chile at the 2023 Pan American Games, adding to a golden resume that already included a World Men’s Doubles Championship that he won in Manchester, UK alongside his compatriot Andres Herrera. The last 12 months have seen Vargas charge up the rankings, cracking the top 50 players in the world for the first time in 2023. Vargas employs a fun to watch style of squash, constantly opening the court and displaying a variety of skills to compliment his quickness and huge reserve of stamina from his years of training at altitude.
